‘A’ Frames are made from brass round bar and brass strips are used as struts which are brazed to the boss using silver solder.  The ‘A’ Frames can be made to any configuration regarding the angle between the struts [included angle] and the angle between the boss and the struts [lean forward angle].  See drawings for examples.  ‘A’ Frame bosses are available in 4mm and 5mm.

Intermediate supports [ ‘P’ Frames]  These are also made from brass round bar and brass strips. The boss has only one strut brazed to it using silver solder.  The strut can be brazed at any angle which may be required.

Lube Oil Point

Details 
The oil lubrication point is made from brass round bar drilled out to fit over brass tubes carrying propeller shafts.  It is fitted with a small brass tube through which oil or grease can be but into the tube with the propeller shaft. Lube Oil Points are available for tubes carrying 4mm or 5mm shafts.

The Propeller Shaft Assembly includes a stainless steel shaft threaded at one or both ends as required.  A brass tube fitted with phosphor bronze bearings and a s/s nut and washer. Shaft Assemblies are available in 4mm and 5mm diameters.

The Extended Type Shaft Assembly is basically the same as a propeller shaft assembly but the brass tube can be of any length required. This is so the shaft can exit the hull and fit through a support frame.  This type of shaft assembly is used on ships which have twin or four propellers.

The thrust collar is a small brass boss which fits on a propeller shaft and can be fastened anywhere on the shaft using a grub screw. Thrust collars are designed to hold the shaft in a fixed position on either side of the brass tube.
